Home again, home again, jiggety jig!

 June 17th, And we are headed home!

Goodbye pastries!
Goodbye!  I am quite sure I will be doing a great deal of introspection in the next few days and weeks, and even months.  It has been an amazing experience and I am sorry to see it end. 

Someone in a blog said, “I went on the Camino to find out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.  I came home having learned what I want to be for the rest of my life. “

Paris!

 We made it!  After an all night flight (actually only 7  1/2 hours) when neither of us slept much due to someone’s very unhappy baby, we had no problems finding our way to the train, then the Metro into Paris.  After walking a few blocks dragging our suitcases, we located  our hotel in a lovely neighborhood…right next door to a sex shop. The hotel is actually very nice We grabbed a quick nap, then ventured out to find a little cafe where we enjoyed a couple of Elephant beers and frites, then went to explore. Seeing Norte Dane was very sad!  Covered in scaffolding, missing windows, blackened towers, what a tragedy has befallen the beautiful cathedral. But San Chappell did not disappoint,  the sunlight thorough the stained glass was glorious!   Also, as a plaque reader traveling with a non-plaque reader, I was delighted to discover the  “Portable Plaque”! We also found St Jacques Tower, the spot where French pilgrims came to be blessed before ...
